Hi everyone!

So I just ported my old number here in Switzerland to my new provider Lycamobile. I'm using an iPhone X.

With my old SIM card, and my old number, iMessage worked just fine. I then bought the new SIM card, used a new number where again iMessage worked fine using the new number, and about a week ago, my old number was ported onto my new SIM card.

Only issues, is that iMessage won't activate. At all. It still tries to activate the original number from the SIM card, and not my old number that was ported to the new SIM card.

I have tried almost anything. The whole turn iMessage on and off (together with facetime), resetting network settings, logging in and out of iCloud, the whole thing. And still, it won't activate on the ported number.

I have entered the phone number into my "own" contact information on the iPhone and I have also activated the phone number as the "contact number" in itunes/icloud settings.

For some reason, I can't edit my phone number inder settings > phone.

I really don't know what to try next. Any tips and/or guesses? Is it my provider that should do something to make this work?

I just tried to activated iMessage from a reset. Without any backups put back on it, or anything else. It still could not activate iMessage, but this time, without scrambling for the old number.

Under phone settings, it still says that the number is “unknown”. Should my provider do anything in this case?

I would contact Apple at this point if all other phone functions are working properly with the new number.
