My friend just got a new android phone because they're iPhone has broken, and I used to iMessage them on their iPhone, and when they didn't have internet (they didn't have mobile data) it would send the message to them as a text message, not iMessage.

So here's what happens now: I have started a new iMessage conversation with one of their email adresses on their iPad, so I'm wondering that if I send them an iMessage and they don't have internet, is there someway I can send that message to their phone as a text in the same conversation?

I don't think so, as the phone would need to be using iMessage (thus needing to be an iPhone) in order to be able to send a message to a cell phone in the same conversation.

Ok, thanks for the reply!
