iMessage Bug

hello all,

i wanted to post about a bug i am experencing on Messages app under os x mountain lion...
when i attempt to send a friend an imessage with a picture on it the message does not go through and when someone trys to send me an imessage with a picture it only comes through to my iphone and ipad but not my laptop..

This issue is intermittent it will basicly work when it wants to....
also upon closeing imessage i get a message saying there is a file transfer in progress... when i review file transfers it shows any picture file that my friends have attempted but dont download....

anyone else have this problem?

oh good its not just me then..... i filed a bug report about it with apple last night.... have u filed a bug report? maybe if more people file a report then apple might have something to go by...

There could be a problem with Apple's servers, because of the massive surge of users that have upgraded to ML. Give it a week, and I'm sure that it will be back to normal.

for me it has been happening since the GM release.

You/they are probably using the phone number contact and not your email address. iOS6 will add the feature of unifying the two but for now you must use the email contact info to send.

nope.... thats not it.... i always imessage my friends email addresses and they email my email for imessage

yes, its not the phone number problem because I am messaging my friends back and forth from my cmoputer and then they send me a picture and it simply does not come through on the computer but it appears on both my iPad and iPhone.

This has happened in reverse for me too. I was messaging my friend on my computer using iMessage and he sent me a picture (of banking information so I could go to the bank and send him money). I got the picture on the computer and I assumed that I got it on my iPhone. WHen I got to the bank the picture was not there and he had to resend it. When I got home I noticed that that second pictre (the one he sent to my iPhone when I was at the bank) was not on my computer (though the one that was sent prior to me leaving the house was there). Prior to ML the first picture would have been in all three places.

I'm having the exact same problem and have been since preview 3. sometimes a reboot fixes it. if you press alt+cmd+L it just has a progress bar thats waiting or it says 0KB sent.

OT but: What is the Siri "thing" on right center? Also by taking an Entire Screen shoot you included your full name (and a lot of unnecessary "blank" area). Next time use Window or Selection (my favorite).

i get this error message sometimes when i boot my macbook pro up.... when i log on imessage will open up and then i will get that message... i click quit and then reopen it.

I'm betting that the number of ML users are a drop in the bucket next to the number of iOS users.
