iMessage cannot be sent

I am having difficult sending iMessage from iPad. This issue started since I was viewing the Media Event on 9/12. Whenever I type something in the text field, the send button that usually comes to life is still grayed out. I have already tried to restart the iPad and the app but is not helping.

I don't think this has to do with the recent outages, this started last week 9/12 when I tried to type something on iMessage. I was able to sent through my iPhone 4S with the same account. New messages are shown on the iPad iMessage together with those I sent on iPhone, I just cannot type and sent from it.

The news are reporting that it's been fixed now. Is it still not working?
