iPhone iMessage - clearing message but not badge

Maybe it only bothers me but in iOS 12 when you got iMessage and cleared it on the lock screen or even 3D Touched it to read, it also cleared the badge count from it. Now in iOS 13 even if you clear the message or read it, it would not clear the badge until you actually opened the Messages app and read it. Any fix in 13.1?

I noticed that as well, seems to be the same in 13.1 too.

Yeah noticed this as well. Hate it! I've had to start using the slower haptic touch to open it and then close the message.

Has anyone found a solution or setting to address this? So annoying.

This bothers me as well. I just assumed it was a bug. I’m planning to submit feedback to Apple.
