So I have an iMessage conversation with my daughter - probably years of info. Last week it changed to sending the message as a text and then starting sending as an email.

Does this happen because the file is too large? How can I save the entire conversation somewhere before deleting. I see directions to save part of the conversation. I back up to the iCloud but if I delete it from my phone, it will be deleted also from the iCloud backup.

Any thoughts?

a) Maybe as an email because of the size....
b) Ever tried Phoneview? (https://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/) - Ain't got no shares in them, but great tool to export all your iPhone / iPad data file based, especially (i)Messages, voice mails, call logs, photos, voice memos...
OK, 30 bucks, but worth its price

Sorry for that; unfortunately, there is no such tool on PC. Then I can only recommend to take screenshots from your iMessage conversations on your iPhone, send the screenshots to your PC and merge these into a PDF file using a tool like Adobe Acrobat or ABBY FineReader or PDF Editor (all Windows also) and run the OCR to get the lyrics from the pictures.

Yep, I could do that. Thanks. Just surprised that iOS doesn’t have a workaround for this. Oh well, mini project for me for today.
