My imessages to a specific person that I text daily all of a sudden doesn't say delivered when I try to send a message to him. He doesn't have me blocked, because we were just texting now all of a sudden my messages aren't delivering. I reset my phone and turned my imessage on and off but nothing seems to work. I never had this problem before and now I don't know what to do. If anyone has had this problem before and has a solution for this problem, please let me know.

What does it say instead? Do the messages still get delivered even though it doesn't say that they are?

Does it work with other conversations? Maybe it's on the side of the receiver somehow.

There's a setting for the recipient to turn off read receipts. With iOS 10, this can be per recipient, or global. Information about it is here:

I don't believe that affects the delivered status, just the read status.
Good point; it does not. Until I reread it for a third time it wasn't clear that the messages weren't actually being delivered.

It doesn't say anything.. it stays as a imessage for awhile then turn green as a text message. I looked at other posts and people have said to delete the contact and the messages and then manually type their number so I did that and their number turns back to blue so i'm guessing when my message sent as text message, my friend never got the message.. so idk if it's his connection or mine.

it does ... one of my friends told me to delete his contact and our messages then manually enter the number to see if it turns to blue or green and it turns back to blue after my messages turn into green so I'm not sure if its his connection or mine.
[doublepost=1480199249][/doublepost]I've got in contact with my friend by deleting his number and our messages then manually typing his number back into my phone without saving him in my contact list. When I did this, my messages started delivering again so it was fine up until today. I try to do the same thing since my messages are not delivering again, but nothing happens so I'm not sure if it's his connection or if his phone is off.
[doublepost=1480199474][/doublepost]My messages turn green after awhile which I thought was a good thing until I realize that when it does that, it would normally say at the bottom where you respond it would say "text message" but instead it goes back to saying "imessage" .. I'm not sure what to do.. It seems like this only happens to this one contact I text, everyone else I can text fine ..

[doublepost=1494942758][/doublepost]Hi,

I've just started experiencing this too with one person. Where you able to figure it what was going on? In my case this is happening too with a male contact. I think he does something to his phone because I don't have this issue with anyone one else that has an iPhone.

So, we're not crazy. Nothing works. It happens from time to time. But only with ur fav person. Others work. But ur fav doesn't deliver. We all know they aren't blocking, out of service, off or whatever. It just doest work. Wtf. VERY frustrating.

[doublepost=1497195541][/doublepost]Yes it is very frustrating. My tells me that he also still gets the messages which is also very weird. It leads me to believe he's playing games and being untrustworthy

My friend says she doesn't. It's lead to many arguements. It's always at crucial times. But after reading this I guess I believe her. Stupid smart phones. I'm goin to the string and cup

I think you would need to change your number in order for it to work again
