My son uses Android. When he sends a message with an image to my wife and I (both running IOS), she gets the image. I do not. She is running IOS 17 (very old IPhone). I am running 18.1 on an IPhone 16 Pro Max. I have RCS selected as well as ICloud messaging. I get the Texts, just not the images. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks!

It could be some kind of mismatch due to iOS 17 not having RCS. Updating to 18 may help in that case.

does the messages from Android arrive as MMS on iOS17? Are your wife and you on the same plan/using the same telco? does said telco support RCS? Do you get the image when message directly outside a group chat?

I dont think IOS 17 supports RCS so it must be MMS? We are both on the same plan and the same Telco (Verizon)
