iMessage Help .Something Odd

Has any one noticed the little red number on the AppStore icon in iMessage ?
What is it and how can I get rid of it ? I have it on both iPhone & iPad but not the same number .

Thanks for that, got rid of all apps, except app store icon | more. seems this eyesore is here to stay

I think it means there are updates to some of the apps you have that support iMessage....do you have any ‘Stickers’ installed for example?

Hi Jazz ! Yes I do . I'm sure it means there are updates but I have no idea how to update them .
All apps in the regular AppStore are updated

EDIT : I tried opening all the apps that were in the sticker drawer but I don't use as stickers ( Dropbox , Shazam , Le Figaro and others ) and they updated !!! So the little number is gone now .
And now I'll know how to get them off when they come back ...

legend!. missed that part. even better I can keep google maps as a favorite and use it when needed.
