I was wanting to share my location in iMessage (iOS 12.2) and after looking online first, I was told to look for the the small i at the top right of the message screen (in a message thread) to get a selection menu (share for an hour etc.).

However I'm not seeing an i on my message screens and am wondering if this is something that was dropped with 12.2 or something I just need to add somehow?.

I can get an option to send a instant only location if I type "I'm at " (with the space) in a message and the location icon pops up (to be used) - but I want the options with the i . Anyone know why I'm not seeing the i option in iMessage to get location (for iOS 12.2)? Is it a setting I need to change? (I have location services enabled)

If you tap the persons name on top of the message thread, a few items will drop down which includes the “i” you’re looking for.

That's awesome mattguy10, thank you! (and Bballrob for checking in as well)

I was wanting to teach my family (just to be able to know how to do it)...this is great.
