Thought i would try iMessage again now that the servers might have had chance to level out a bit (i was finding iMessages could take 20+ minutes to appear on my GF's iphone in the first week of iOS5 being released, so i turned it off to begin with).

Two problems though;

1) I sent two messages in quick succession to my gf's iphone, but the second arrived before the first! They both went as iMessage, not SMS.

2) Also, my mother has an ipad 2. iMessage is working, but our conversations between my iphone and her ipad do not show up on my iPad like my conversations between my gf's iphone and mine do.

Any idea's?

It's strange you mention this. I sent two messages to a friend the other day using iMessage and he answered with "was the first one meant for me?". I didn't know what he meant at first but it turns out they were delivered in the wrong order. I've used iMessage quite a lot with other friends though and we've never had any problems with delayed messages etc.

With #2 make sure you set all devices to receive @ your apple id. Also make sure caller I'd is set to apple id. Then delete the messages on both devices. From here on out you will get the messages pop up on both. I forgot where I read that, but it's out there & works. I had to do that.
