Hi all,

I have a unique situation. I have a verizon iphone 4 that has been deactivated. I have been trying to get it to use imessage but have had some bad luck. I am running into a few problems. Namely my messages prioritizing themselves as SMS and not imessages, thus not going through.

I am connected to wifi, and even with my networks enabled I still can't get a connection. I would prefer to use it in airplane mode with only wifi turned on, since there is no point in wasting battery searching for networks I can't connect to, but that hasn't worked either. It won't even let my type up a message.

Yes I have imessage enabled. Yes I have "send as SMS if imessage fails?" disabled. I know the people I'm sending messages to have ios5. I would like to do it in airplane mode, but it seems like that isn't an option? Anyone have any ideas?
