Finishing up my move from Sierra/Mac Pro 5,1 to Catalina Mac Pro 7,1. I was receiving text from both iPhone and non-iPhone users in iMessage but now only getting message from iPhone. Everything in my setup looks correct - why could I be missing that's keeping out the non-iPhone users texts?

Do your Send & Receive settings include one or more email addresses? It might be helpful to post a pic of your settings too.

Do you have setup the new Mac on your iPhone in Settings > Messages > Text message forwarding?

The explanation for this option (again, this is on iPhone since only your iPhone gets text messages) is: "Allow these devices to send and receive text messages from this iPhone".
Now, I am not sure how you add to this list, I think at some point each device asked me if I want it to be added, but I do not remember...

Double check in your iMessage settings that your phone number appears as an option. It wasn't for me at one point so I needed to sign out and sign back in for it to show up again (and fix everything being out of sync on my laptop)

Looks like this was the issue. My new Mac has the same name as my old and there are 2 entries on the iPhone. One wasn't set so I checked it and things are working now. Thanks!
