iMessage only works with iMessage accounts

I can only send and receive from iMessage accounts

Tried restarting, signing out and in, etc.

It works fine on my iPhone and iPad.

Any advice?

If I send a text to a friend who does not have iMessage, the message does not go through.
These are people that I texted before and are part of previous conversation. I know they work because I can text them from my phone.

Im able to text non iPhone people from my mac using iMessage?

I think this is something else.
It used to work, now no one I text that is non-iMessage gets the text.
They didn't change phones or anything like that.

I guess I will do the update today and see if that fixes it.
