iMessage photos issue- please help

Edit: Issue went away on its own. Don't know what caused it, but it's resolved.

So my mom is having issues with her iMessage and we're going crazy trying to figure out how to fix it. She tried sending a screenshot from her iPhone to my sister, but my sister didn't receive it. It also disappeared from my mom's conversation right after she sent it. The weird part is that on iMessage on her MacBook, it shows her sending it.

She tried the same thing sending it to me and the same issue. Any ideas on what the issue is?

Did you check the Send & Receive settings for Messages? Maybe something got mixed up there.

It randomly started working again without changing anything. How strange. But a couple weeks ago her texts were all screwed up because "start new conversations from" was set to one thing on her phone, and another thing on her MacBook. So I told her to make sure they were the same thing, and that fixed it.

I think that happened to me once a few years ago. Glad to hear it’s working again.
