iMessage privacy issue?

Does anyone have any concern that you can now reply iMessage directly on lock screen without having to unlock the phone? I'm sure there's a way to turn off replying on lock screen but will people really use this?

I know it's convenient but nosy people can read my messages and reply without even unlocking the phone. I guess FBI doesn't have to hack the phone anymore.

You can turn off the ability to reply to iMessage from the lock screen. Settings > TouchID & Passcode

If someone doesn't turn off the feature and is concerned about privacy, I don't think it is Apple's responsibility to turn it off completely, just because some may chose to be lazy or ignorant.

This is not new to iOS 10 either, you could always quick reply from the lock screen, couldn't you? (Someone correct me if I am wrong)

Yes. Has been available since iOS 8, if I am not mistaken.

I have "Reply with Message" toggle turned on under Touch ID setting and I still have to unlock the phone in order to reply.

Something else is affecting that. Under normal circumstances people can reply from from the lock screen, and have been able to since at least iOS 9 or 8 (along with a way to control that ability of they want to disable it).

Figured it out. iMessage notifications need to have "Preview" turned on. Otherwise sliding left won't have reply option.

In iOS 10 you can now unlock your phone and remain on the lock screen. Touch ID only unlocks your phone, and you have to click the home button to jump into the app launcher. Actions on the lock screen are more limited if your phone is still locked. For example, if your phone is locked Spotlight only searches the web, such as Wikipedia or Maps, you have to unlock your phone to see search results local to your device, such as Messages, Notes or Contacts.
