For the past five days or so, I've been getting a significant number of iMessage errors--either messages with the "delivery failure" notice (which often still end up received by the recipient), or simply messages sending as text instead of iMessage.

Many of my friends (in Boston) have also been having this issue, but not all on the same carrier (and iMessage should be carrier independent).

Has anyone else been noticing this flakiness in iMessage for the past week or so? Apple's status page does not acknowledge it.

I've been having the same issue for two days. Messages give a delivery failure notice, for example, on the iPhone, but the message ends up being sent from my iPad regardless. My MBP Messages app hasn't updated conversations since the problem began.

If Apple's doing something, they're not saying it.

My wife and i both started getting delivery error messages today - even though most of the messages went thru. some of my wife's failed and were sent via regular SMS..
this is iphone to iPhone and Mac to iPhone...

My wife and I are having the same problem. I was on the phone for 1 hour with Apple and they had me restore my iPhone to factory and set it up as a new iPhone and then it stopped. So now I can iMessage my wife without any errors.

That being said, I just got a text from my sister who uses her iPad 3 and she says she has this Red Exclamation mark with NOT DELIVERED red message after each text she sends and when I replied to her I got the error back.

Keep in mind even though it shows the red exclamation mark and red message NOT DELIVERED, it does actually deliver it. But looking at it , it makes one think it was not delivered properly. This is so messed up.

However I texted my wife once more and there are still no errors between us now but it seems with others we text.

Conclusion? I think iMessage needs looking into by Apple and they should be fixing this soon. At least lets hope so.
