I have four iPhones and two iPads in my house. We all share the same apple ID. My question is how can I set up one iPad with one iPhone so that the messages sent and received are only on those two devices? Right now if I send a message or receive a message it shows up on both iPads. Probably not explaining this right but if anyone gets it help would be greatly appreciated

Can't you just turn off iMessage on the other devices? Or log out of the iMessage account?

I could. What I was hoping to be able to do was associate each iPad with an iPhone so that either device could be used. Not sure if it as easy as setting up a separate email address for each iPhone and then having the iPad I want to use with that particular iPhone use that email for texting. The iPads are only wifi no data plans. To much technology in one spot

I think until iOS6 is released you will have to set up seperate email addresses. iOS6 allows you to add phone numbers as 'received at' addresses.

The easiest thing to do is create iCloud accounts for each user and keep one single iTunes Store account setup on all devices so that they all share purchases etc.

do you use the same apple ID for purchases? You can have different icloud accounts to run iMessage and different account for the store.

Wife and I both have iPads and iPhones. our iCloud accounts are me.com and our store account is the same gmail email that we use
