iMessage read/unread sync stopped working

After I upgraded my iPhone to iOS15, my mac and iPhone no longer sync read/unread Message threads. Is anyone else having this issue? Any fixes? Super annoying that message status isn't synced between devices...

Same here, I thought it was all messages, but I’ve turned off iCloud messaging on both devices, restarted, changed some settings, but now it’s definitely just text messages not iMessages
