imessage sync issues

I cant get my imessage to sync my 4/s convo and my ipad2 convo witht he same person. I entered my apple id on both devices in the message settings and i set my ID on my phone to be my apple id as well.

Just wait, once you manage to sync it will scramble the order of your message history when using it on different devices, just pick up and continue my ass

To put it mildly, i had to struggle to even get it activated on my gf's iphone

My outbound messages sync but not my inbound.
