iMessage + Text

Hi, so I have a contact who has iMessage on their iPad and a blackberry which I text normally. Both his email and iMessage are saved under the same contact and his name shows up in both (iMessage and text) when he messaged me. However it shows as two different threads. Is there anyway for it to show up all under the same contact?

I had the same issue with iMessages from my wife today.
I solved it by logging out and then changing her log-in e-mail to her @me.com account rather than her personal account
