I just got a new iMac 24". I have used Macs forever. I used to be able to send/receive on iMessage to other non-ios devices. Now it won't work. What setting am I missing? Has something changed. I can send/receive on my ipad just fine.

thanks

Kerri

On preferences, make sure your iCloud email is selected.

Or, if you have done all that, what is the specifics of "won't work?"

If currently working on iPad, make sure you are using the same email.(Apple ID)

If you have an iPhone go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding and find your iMac and turn it on.

I just logged into my icloud account and there does not appear to be a "messages" icon. How do I login to messages in iCloud?

Make sure in iCloud on your mobile, iPad or iMac, that Messages is selected.
If you log into iCloud Dot Com, via a browser, you will not see Messages...

Sorry I wasn’t clear. iCloud has to be enabled on all devices, but also ensure messages are set to synch in the cloud and that the email account you are using for iCloud account is same on all devices and set as the send from receive address.
