Hi all. Hope you might be able to help me with iMessages.

Me and Mr Fiance have iPhones and iPads. I have the iPhone4 and he has the iPhone4S. We both have the iPad 1.

However, we are having a problem with iMessage. It seems that if we send a message to the other, it will go on both devices who sent the message and only one device to the person who receives it. It's actually a bit random as well. Sometimes, it will go to the receiver's iPhone but sometimes it will go to the iPad.

Any ideas?

This is because you both have your Apple ID set up for the iMessage on the iPhone and iPad.

On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Messages -> Receive At -> Apple ID

then you sign out from the Apple ID and just keep your Phone as your only Receive At.

iPhone can use the phone number and email addresses to receive iMessage and iPad can only use email addresses to receive iMessage.

If you don't want to sign out of Apple ID on your iPhone then just change your Caller ID from the email address to your phone number. (or you can always add another email address to your iMessage)

I'm sorry if my comment seemed kind of rude, it was not my intention. Its just that I know I've responded to like 6 or 7 threads on this subject already and didn't feel like going through that again, but in a way I was trying to let you know its been discussed.

But yes, YoYoCome did a good job explaining how to fix the sync issue.

I totally understand how you feel. Many of these topics have been discussed already and people kept on starting a new thread to ask about the same questions. I think Photo Stream threads can already build a skyscraper when the answer is already out there.
