Ever since iOS 18, my wife and I have had some bad bugs in iMessage. It’s odd too that it’s just our conversation - doesn’t seem to happen in others.

Anyway, ignoring the “Maybe: Name” notification bug which seems to be found a lot on this forum, which we are dealing with for now, the big issue is that our texts from the previous day seem to erase after a certain amount of time. For example, we will text throughout the day and everything works fine, but then the next day, those texts are gone. This has been happening since the day we updated to iOS 18, so there’s a big gap now of messages.

These messages sync and work properly on all of the rest of our devices, so I know it’s just a bug for our iPhones, but it’s very annoying. Anyone experiencing anything similar or know of anything to try?

Known issue (in the 18.2 betas at least, which means it might affect 18.0 and 18.1 users too). Reboot the device.

Oh, thank you. We are on iOS 18.1 (this happened in 18.0 as well), but it's good to know they know about it. Hopefully it's fixed by the time 18.2 release comes out.

Just for the sake of information gathering, a reboot does not fix the issue on 18.1.
