iMessages not appearing on my iPad?

Set my mom up with iOS 5 and been messaging each other through iMessage but it isn't appearing on my iPad

Just been texting and the messages aren't appearing on my iPad.

This has been discussed multiple times, with solutions.

For me, all I had to do was to find the person's phone number in my contacts and send them an imessage from my iPad. From then on out, my chat was synced with that person.

I use a separate email address to communicate to my iPad.
