- I have my iMac's "iMessages" and iPhone's "Messages" app linked
- My girlfriend used to have an Android and iMessages would send her my texts via SMS
- I recently gave her my old iPhone (which she got a new SIM for and added her phone number to), and iMessages started sending her texts (ie: not via SMS Text Relay).
- Something happened to the iPhone, so now she is back on her Android.
- iMessages KEEPS sending my texts via iMessage protocol instead of via SMS Text Forwarding protocol (ie: the messages I send her from my iMessages app on my iMac are BLUE which means that my Mac thinks it's sending the message to another iPhone, instead of GREEN because her phone is once again an Android).
- I've already changed my AppleID password and was asked to re-authenticate, but the problem persists.
This is bordering on infuriating because both iMac and Messages show the texts I've sent as "Delivered", whereas she is not getting them.
She ONLY gets the texts if I Copy the previously sent text message off of my phone's screen, and paste it back into the phone, and then send it.
Only after I do the Copy-n-Paste workaround on my phone that I just mentioned, does iMessages on my Mac show the (second) text in a GREEN text block being delivered via SMS.
This is ridiculous and a HUGE waste of my time.
Any suggestions?
