So I changed absolutely nothing on my iPhone, no software updates or settings or anything, and all of a sudden in the last few days when I receive an iMessage it comes in above the message I last sent in the list instead of below it.

Text messages are still ordered correctly.

Anybody else seeing this? Maybe it’s indicative of Apple making server-side changes in anticipation of iCloud message sync?

I'd just recently had this problem! Something's really going on at Apple, their software engineers are really mucking things up.

Resetting my phone seems to have fixed this problem.

I'm having the same issue, even got a message that was for a group message yet was in a private message to me.

Same here, also there are some messages which appeared on my Apple Watch and they are not present on iOS 11.1.2/macOS 10.13.1 Messages app. This is such a mess

Somebody probably “root hacked” one of their cloud config machines and is now trolling everyone

I'm having this. Also iMessage on my iPod touch 6 is completely dead today. It won't sync with my other iDevices, and won't send or receive iMessages. I'm not going to reset anything. I suspect whenever Apple fixes whatever they broke it will start working again.
