iMessages

Hi could anyone help me please, when i have recently been receiving imessages they are no longer coming to my iphone but just going straight to my imac instead, previously they came to my phone and mac sinultaineously but now its just mac, Can anyone help please.
I am using iphone xr but was having the same issue with my iphone 8 a few weeks ago before I upgraded so dont think its the phone,

I will frequently get messages simultaneously on my Mac, iPad, and phone/watch. But sometimes the message seems to only go to one device. It's a hit or miss thing, and rarely lasts for long.

Go through the setup instructions on your phone again. I'd bet the settings changed and that's why they stopped.

I checked settings again and yes they have changed, imessages was turned off, it certainly wasnt like that before and I didnt turn it off, thanks, Terry
