Hi all,

Sorry if I am repeating a post already uploaded before, I am new to all this.

I have recently just bought my first iMac and I want to use it for making music and making movies.

I have currently uploaded a new movie from my camcorder onto iMovies and I have successfully edited the movie, added titles and other little cool effects to the movie and I have just successfully finished making my very first movie project.

But when I come to burn the new movie onto DVD, I am experiencing problems.

I have researched all over the net and other forums and tried all the tips and tricks etc that people have mentioned but nothing seems to work for me.

I 'Shared' the movie from iMovie to Quicktime (even tried iTunes)as the movie viewing platform so it is an MP4 format, I have even compressed the movie, but for some reason it still doesn’t work.

I have changed the movies preferences so it is in the right region and I chose other recommended changes to make it easier for me to burn. And still nothing.

I noticed Apple are no longer issuing iDVD so I downloaded 'Burn', usually Burn works fine but it is not recognising the MP4 at all. Even when Burn is open and I try and drag the MP4 from the desktop to the drop in section in Burn, for some reason once it is in Burn you can not select it or click on it.

In my documents folder I right clicked on the movie and selected burn, this time it worked. Once it had burned the DVD, there was nothing on the disc, I have tried it on 4 different players. I did somehow manage to use Burn in the end and it was making the normal noises burning on the DVD, but again nothing on the disc.

I don’t want to pay the amount toast charges and I am struggling to get a finished project in iMovies onto a DVD+R, if anyone can help that would be great.

Thanks

You posted in the iOS section for iPads, iPhones and such. You'd probably get more help in the hardware section for Apple computers.
