I don't think the iPad is a true laptop killer but adding some light weight features to their owns apps would be very nice.
This is what I would like to see:
Photo app -- 1.) Add ability to create albums from Camera Connection Kit import. 2.) add tags, etc. to photos, 3.) do minot tweaks to imported pictures such as fill light, white balance, black level, and sharpeneing
MobileMe Gallery -- iPad friendly update by using the available screen real estate and allowing for a high quality display of photos.
iBooks -- I would like to see an active and archive section. After I am done with a book, I hate to see it cluttering up my book shelf. Right now, I just move it to the end/bottom of the shelf. This can get ugly before long. Or if they add organization like the iPod/Music app, where you can choose an order like book title or author and have the option to click on a letter to go right to that section.
Contacts -- Need tht ability to modify contacts more. Limited in what groups you can add a contact to, etc. If the iPad version can get the functions of the desktop version and the desktop version get the look and feel of the iPad version, I would be very happy.
Calendar -- I am happy with this app.
Remote -- I would love an update to an iPad friendly version. The Remote app with the same look and feel of the iPod/Music app would be awesome. I use my iPhone app to control my Apple TV from other rooms. A version with a great High Res display of the albums, etc. is in need.
Hopefully, with yesterdays release of the iPad iDisk app, we will be seeing others come soon.
