i am just getting the hang of it, and curious if anybody had any tips to offer.

what is the recommended setting for cross dissolve 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2?

also is there anyway i can add my text somewhere?

1. what is the recommended setting for cross dissolve 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2?

1. Not sure if there's a recommended time length, but the default time is 1.0 second.

2. Double the clip -> title style (choose one) -> then click the empty text insert above (on the picture of the clip)

I am also in need of help with iMovie and hope the original poster doesn't mind if I ask here.

I have started making a movie with pictures instead of video clips. When I double tap the clip all I get is the Ken Burns effect editing screen and not the Clip Settings screen. Is there a way to put a title on an opening picture?

Thanks danpass, some helpful tips in your video...especially making a custom transition from a photo. I had found it frustrating that I couldn't add text to photo transitions, this is a nice workaround.
