iMovie in iOS 8

I just downloaded iMovie in iOS 8 and the app would not work at all, it just crashed at launch, even though it said it was an update specifically for iOS 8. Now it appears that iMovie is gone from he app store.

Did Apple just pull iMovie? Has anyone else had a problem with it crashing in iOS8?
