iMovie used to be able to open and work, but would not allow me to drag and drop anything. I thought that uninstalling and reinstalling would fix this, but now every time I try to open it, it crashes around 5 seconds after the window comes up. Any help is appreciated, I need it for my work.
Thanks in advance.

A few things to try:
  • open the Disk Utility application, repair permissions, reboot.
  • Reset PRAM.
  • Create a new user, reboot, login to the new user and see if the issue happens in the new user account.
  • Delete ~/Library/Caches, reboot.

I tried each of these, as I am also having the same issue. iMovie still crashes about 3 seconds after opening, first notifying me that the movie I am trying to shared to the theater could not be shared.

There was an update released not too long back that fixed the crashing issue.
