Good evening all,

I have just finshed my very first iMovie. It was so cool how easy it was. I can tell you that before a couple of weeks ago I was a 100% PC person. Now I might not ever buy one again.

Ok, now to the point-

While I was using iMovie I found that you cant "trim" a clip. I left a little extra at the begining and end of my clips and I was going to "trim" them off. Can you do that?

I wanted a clip to first play foreward and then play a second time backwards, but it appears that you can only use a clip once. Can you use a clip twice?

And finally can I reuse the tape in my camera? I went back and took some more footage, but iMovie would not import it. I thought that I might have messed up the indexing (on the tape), so I started over again and recorded from the begining, but then all iMovie would show me is a blue screen.

Finally, where do you find that little made on a Mac clip that I have seen before? I want to add it to the end of all my clips.

Thanks much for your help!!!
Doug

You can trim by placing the head ovear a video clip and typing "command T".

You can use a clip twice by copying it and pasting it.

you can reuse a tape by rewinding it and just filming over it.

Hope this helps! Congrats on switching.

Hmm...

I think he means cropping. Go to iMovie help, or place your arrow at the very beginning of the clip at the playhead. You'll see little markers appear on the bottom. Drag the right one where you want the clip to end, the left to the beginning of what you want. When you are finished, click crop under edit (or command-k). iMovie will only keep the yellow parts of the clip in between the markers and delete the rest. Happy editing!

Thanks for the help

Thank a bunch for the help. I thought that I had tried the copy and paste, but I will give it another go.

It could just be my PC background here that is causing me this problem. I am trying to make things a lot harder then they need to be.

Thanks,
Doug
