iMovie updated!

iMovie has finally got a solid update. Some of the more notable additions:

- split video clips
- songs auto loop
- updated photo browser (newest pics on top)
- mute badge so you know when video clips have the audio muted


Good additions IMO. What do you think?

Definitely. Also, the updated version requires 4.1.

I love what they added, even though I hate that they changed the adding a photo icon to a video recorder icon.

Its really down to personal choice. I downloaded it when it was released, but have only used it once to see what it was like. But it is handy to have i guess.

Well it's only an app, if your looking for something serious then you need to use some sort of desktop software. It's just a bit of fun.

I wish you could do this too. The work around is to export the photo as a video and then load that into iMovie.

I am excited for this update. It is not earth shattering, but it is certainly an improvement to an app that I was already quite happy with for the price. For what it is it works pretty well and I have gotten a lot of use out of it. Sure it is no where near as robust as the desktop version, but it is a phone version after all.

I thought I read somewhere that you would be able to scrub through video clips you are choosing. I don't seem to be able to do that. Did I imagine reading that would be in this update?

Another small, but good change they made is that now when picking photos, the most recent photos you have taken are at the top instead of the bottom so you don't have to scroll through as much to find them. This is great for me because every video I make uses shots from my most recent photos.

I wish they added a few more themes! A few abstract ones which dont fit into any particular category would be fine.

I thought I read somewhere that you would be able to scrub through video clips you are choosing. I don't seem to be able to do that. Did I imagine reading that would be in this update?

I read about that as well, but am not sure what this feature means.
