Hey, I was wondering if you know about this gem and if one can download it from net. The pc version is free.

Thanks, but wiki is a encyclopedia. I don't think if there is any game there for download.

The wiki link was for the game, not for the wiki software. I understand what a wikipedia reference is.

Is that the game you are talking about?

Thanks. I am looking for the first version: Imperialism, not Imperialism II.

Both Imperialism I and II are great games, although I prefer II slightly.

As far as I can tell, the Mac version is not available for free.

I wish someone would update them to run under OS X. They won't run properly under Classic unless you downgrade OS 9 to 9.1 or earlier.

They work fine under Classic with the standard 9.2, except the CD music won't play (but that's a problem with Classic in general). Of course, that doesn't help Intel Mac users, but unfortunately the games are old enough that there's no chance whatsoever of an "update" (they'd basically have to be re-ported from scratch.) Although, I did try Imperialism 1 with SheepShaver some years ago and it worked fine, but that was the Linux version, and the OS X version wasn't quite as good last time I tried it.
