Import iPhone To UK

Hi

I'm thinking of buying an iPhone of the US Apple Store using a mail forwarding company for my US address.

Now my question can i buy it without taking a contract out with AT&T? What are the import charges and duties (Estimate will do)? Do you think this would work if not i'll wait until july when I'm going out for a wedding.

Any thoughts? BTW i know how to Unlock and all that so thats not a problem.

We forward these phones all the time so my assumption is that people are finding ways to buy them without setting up ATT contracts. Good luck!

why not but a uk iphone and unlock it using ziphone?

chances are that itll not be worth the hassle of shipping it as it will be relativley expensive... probably easier just to buy the phone in the uk

I don't want to buy the UK one just want the US one for the hell of it. BTW it is cheaper plus i can get it in 16GB one
