Import to Garage Band

Anyone know how or if I can import an mp3 into garage band?
-at my parents house for thanksgiving.... dial up.... lame

I was able to drag & drop a mp3 into the GB window, & it then converted it

Edit ok, you can, but it keeps the whole mp3 file as a single track, as above, just drag and drop onto Garageband project

one more thing.... any way I can make garage band record for more than 6 minutes and 40 seconds? I have a file of a trumpet ensemble that I edited in another program, but I want to add some reverb, which for some reason I cant do in sound studio, and garage band will only put the first 6:40 in there. and i have another 3 minutes of music.....
