Import to Photos...?

I recently switched from iPhoto to Photos, so I'm not sure about all the tweaks needed to carry out an action, given that, here's my concern: I saw a photo I wanted to keep, double clicked on it, chose the Import to Photos option, but the pic didn't show up in Photos Import file.

What do I need to do to export pics to Photos?

It may not be in the Last Import folder in Photos, but check in the main Photos section(see picture). It maybe the last addition right at the bottom.
