Found this while browsing my morning feeds and emails. Thought it would be important for the users of the mint.com app. This has not gone into effect yet but members with accounts need to be aware and let them know that you do not agree. Protect yourselves before its to late.

Mint doesn't store your personal information though, just your spending trends. So the companies would be buying access to the latter, not the former.

Okay guys, I know you all love to knit pick and critisize everything that is posted in these forums. I was simply passing on a warning about an app that is used by forum users. It is a warning only...if a company is willing to start releasing info....where will it end. I am not saying they will or they wont but they are starting so where will it end when a company needs money. Take it for what its worth. If your concerned then take appropriate action and let them know how you feel. If you dont see the potential threat then move on and let it go. My god, just providing info not trying to change the friggin world.

Mint stores the login information to your bank accounts...if that isn't personal information then I don't know what is....

SFC while you were attempting to warn users, users were attempting to tell you what is stored and what is not. I don't think anyone meant anything by it.

Now someone is reporting it stores your login info, but Mint showcased their app claiming this not to be the case and that no personal data was accessible because it wasn't stored. I think it needs to be cleared up what is stored and what isn't and who better to do that then Mint.com themselves?
