importing large music collection in music app.

My music collection is about 80GB with about 500 folders. I went and manually cleaned out some duplicates and bad recording. Then I thought I will delete my old music file and reimport everything. After about 5 minutes my music app crashes and I get a out of memory message. I tried this on 2 computers a MacBook Pro w16GB of ram and a 2019 iMac with 40GB of ram. Both are running the latest Catalina with all the updates. I heed help!!!!!!

Try importing in smaller chunks. iTunes used to freeze at any import over a few hundred songs. The effect varies with OS and iTunes version. Same trouble may be happening with music app.
