I have a large table I need to import into InDesign, in the form of a .txt file, but when I go to file>place, the file I want is grayed out. I checked ID's help file, but I couldn't understand why it wouldn't work. Just for ***** and giggles, I tried converting it to a .doc file with NeoOffice, but it wouldn't open there either. Suggestions?

hmmm.... should work!

Have you tried resaving the .txt file? Just open it in TextEdit and do a save as, completely change the name and check that box 'add .txt if missing'.
