I'm trying to import a youtube video in Flash 9. I'm having a lot of trouble getting it going. Any ideas on whats the best way of importing it. I've done the step by step tutorials and I seem to be missing some small steps. Is it better importing the .mpg/.mov files or importing from youtube.

What I'm really trying to do is a cool slideshow with thumbnails......any cool easy template I should use for that???

Any input would help! Thanks!

I assume you mean you've been trying to import into Flash CS3(flash 9 is more commonly used in reference to the player)? Well if that is the case, what exactly have you been doing?

Two ways to do this,
1. Use the import option under file.
2. Use the flash video encoder program which should have come with Flash CS3, convert it to FLV format then import.

as for templates, well, what sort of slideshow are you looking for? Just about anything you can think of can built these days with flash. "cool slideshow with thumbnails" is not very specific.

In the meantime, you can find prebuilt stuff all over the web. Just do a search for something like "Flash photo slideshow" or "photo player" which should come up with a few results.
