iPod Importing with Laptop Lid Closed

This could be a simple oversight by me, but I just started importing a CD collection while at work and I have a question. If I have I tunes set to "Import CD and Eject" and happen to already have the current CD in my library, I get no warning sound? Is there a way to make this happen? Right now all I can do is take a peek after each CD is inserted which seems very unnecessary. Either that or figure it out about 20 minutes later when I still have no CD ejected. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
