Impossible (?) to connect headless Mac Mini

Hi All,

We've got a Mac Mini from a friend, we want to use it as office server, BUT:

- our friend only knows the wifi pass for this Mini
(he got this as payment from a guy he lend money to, but he never tried it)
- i have an iMac27 and it recognises the Mini, but requires a password when connecting
which isn't the wifi password that was given to us - any method to reset this password?
- i don't need any of the files earlier stored on this Mac Mini, i just want to start using it
as a server for file sharing / backup / etc. - any method to reinstall completely maybe?

I have no idea how to access this Mini and all answers i found was related to "set this and that on the Mini".

Any help would be appreciated.

You will need some sort of monitor + keyboard, but restart the mini and hold CMD R, you should have an option to reinstall OSx

Like mentioned, get a monitor and keyboard/mouse, then i would get a USB drive, create an OS X USB installer and format and re-install.

Set up the machine with your AppleID, turn on Back to my Mac and you can go headless from now on with a fresh HDD.
