impossible to link mini display port cable to iMac i7?!?

Hi

Today I tried to connect to the TV my i7 but the mini diplay port connector don' t enter in the connector on mi iMac! The cable its ok and works well with my MacBook Pro 13. this is another iMac 27" problem?!?
