Hi-

I understand that in iOS 13 Apple improved Shortcuts and added a bunch of triggers, most interesting to me time-based and location-based triggers.

But my question is about actions. Launch Center Pro (and similar) cannot access System Settings, like to turn on Do Not Disturb or something. Can the new Shortcuts access these kinds of System Settings? If so, is DND an accessible action? I'd like to be able to trigger DND on or off by time or location in other words.

Thanks!

I guess since DND is an action now, it will still be an action in the new Shortcuts app.

The shortcuts app can already access dnd, WiFi, Bluetooth etc etc. And all of these settings you’ll be able to trigger and automate in many different ways. You will be able to for example create a shortcut that turns dnd on when you connect to your home WiFi. Even when you snooze an alarm. There are many new variables

Here are the device actions from Shortcuts 2.2 under iOS 12. I don't have Shortcuts 3 beta yet so I can't say if more have been added. But as @ZEEN0j notes, these will now be combinable with automations based on time, system state and location and so will be quite powerful.

I wonder how this will work with multiple devices? Shortcuts sync through icloud, but if i walk out of work with my iphone and two ipads, i don't want the same shortcut triggering three times.

In settings you choose which device you want to be the device that manages these sorts of things. The shortcut will and can only trigger on one device.

Is that a per-shortcut setting or a universal one?

Would it be possible to turn on and off WiFi calling and switch between 4G off, data and data & phone calls with shortcuts on iOS 13? I didn’t find a way to work this on iOS 12.

Especially useful with location based triggers.

It doesn't appear so presently. The list of device actions appears to be identical to Shortcuts 2.2. That may change, though, as we progress through the betas.

It’s a Apple ID setting that’s been there since HomeKit to determine the same set of values. Shortcut can now hook into that setting.
