Quick question for about iphone videography. I like to stream my kids games to my family who watch back home on their computers. The video they see is pretty grainy and low quality. I've already adjusted the settings to 60fps on our 6s, but the live video (volleyball game) is pretty grainy when viewed on a bigger screen.

Are there some tips or some kind of clip-on lens which would improve the live playback quality?

Thank you for any tips.

Chris

via Facebook Live. Was "streaming live" incorrectly worded? Thought that was the term, if not my apologies!

No, that's correct.

I suspect you're using cellular data or a weak wifi signal which forces a lower resolution video. See if this video on YouTube helps.

Of course, shooting the video with the Camera app and later uploading (when you're back on your home network) to YouTube or some other video hosting service would be optimal for quality.

Fantastic information Brian, thank you for info and the link. We are in a big gym during a volleyball tourney, so I bet one issue is the upload speed we are able to get.

I will def use the speedtest.net app to see what we are getting.

I wonder if the image may be blurry also because of how far away we are (abt 30 feet or so). I guess we'll see after we see the upload we are on. If the speed is useable, then maybe a wide angle lens will help clear up the picture because of the distance away we are..

Wide angle lenses will make anything in that distance very small,so I guess those are kind of useless,.
Your filming distance is long enough to be near the iPhone cameras maximum distance. And of course,if you stream it over cellphone networks, you get very compressed low resolution video in the receiver end.

Thanks for the tip! Just cancelled the Amazon order I put in earlier today
