In 1999, the idea of having a device in my hand that can do all that the iPhone can do was mind boggling. However, here we are. The question I pose to the community is what will we be talking about in 2019. Lets try to be realistic yet creative.

10 years?
A more powerful tablet.
iPhone G14 which sounds lame so it will be the Tablet Mobile which is noting more than the iPhone. ;)
Desktops and Notebooks coming with 500 GB SSDs as standards with a 1TB upgrade option.
The day Steve Jobs passed away (sorry folks but yes ... it can happen and I'm just the ******* to bring it up).

Steve Jobs is only human...people tend to forget that...I puts his jeans on one leg at a time. Unless Steve really died in 2004 and for the last 5 years, we have been following iSteve...Apple and Disney partnered and using Disney's animatronics technology and Apple's computer technology...iSteve was born. It was the last project of the real Steve Jobs.

Heres what I think.

- 256bit computing.
- Green computing (reducing on sloppy programming to reduce processing power needed.)
- OS XI.
- Windows 2020 (It's gonna be as bad as Vista.)
- Pocket computers.
- As much as I hate it, touchscreen. And possible projection touchscreen, maybe a hologram.
- The collapse of the music industry.
- PlayStation 5.
- Some hologram gaming system made by Nintendo.

everything is in order except we're gonna be talking about the ps4 and the windows thing stops at 8. Microsoft themselves said so. something else ( hopefully better) is gonna be coming out after 8. also, i think we will have quantum computers. and about how the real graphics in a game run soo nice on my 10kx12k laptop screen. and graphics card will be obsolete, we will use a single proc/gpu unit. nvidia/ati will start selling these.

Wearable.

I think we'll see everything right there, in some sort of glasses maybe. Phone right there, pops up a note when you see someone with notes you've made about them in the past....IE, I owe $10, has my presentation for review.

TV, computer, phone, all one device.

How about a radical new human/computer interface? We've had the mouse for ages and we're just beginning to play with touchscreens and multitouch track pads.

How about something like a cursor that follows where your eyes are looking,
- or gesturing to manipulate the computer which is tracked by a camera,
- or perhaps even finally some voice recognition that works!

Take these kind of ideas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_CSRoA0MkA&feature=related
and think like being inside your computer in a virtual world?

Google will manage to make paper obsolete. All books will be searchable in Google...Google will make more things free to consumers (provided we can deal with AdSense on our cereal). Also the idea of advertising supported roads will happen (hopefully replacing toll roads). Also I think that vehicles will make it pretty impossible to die in a crash. We will see more safety and prevention features in cars.

:D

However, the username Shortest Skil was taken and Tallest Skil got him booted, because he said it was harassment. Even though Shortest Skil never broke any rules...

There's a few things out there, that already go beyond following eye movements, or voice recognition. Brain waves. It's likely to take longer than 10 years, but it's being worked on.

Quantum computing, once we solve the decoherance problem.
Another one that's likely to take longer than 10 years, unless there's a massive investment to speed up the development IMO.

Also I think that vehicles will make it pretty impossible to die in a crash. We will see more safety and prevention features in cars.

More cars are taking driving out of the hands of the driver - that'll make car crashes fewer and far between. Things like slowing down/braking hard if you get too close to another car and don't notice are already seen in luxury cars. We've all heard about the car that can parallel park itself. We have turn by turn GPS systems - GPS is already getting passed by other positioning technologies. 10 years? It's possible that at that time the high end luxury cars that just do the driving for you - just punch in where you want to go and it takes you there.

We also see the introduction of the fiberoptic universal port that Apple and Intel are working on - no more USB/Firewire/VGA/DVI/Ethernet ports, it's all rolled into one universal type with several GHz speed.

We'll be talking about a former company called Apple that sold overpriced products to unsophisticated and unsuspecting customers... :)
