In current gen 27 inch iMac is SSD Storage NVMe or Sata?

I was seriously considering buying a new iMac today. I rang Apple got put thru to Sales and listed the iMac I wanted, when we got to the storage part I chose the 512GB SSD option. I then asked which port would be used PCIe or the SATA?. I couldn't get an answer from the Apple Salesperson as they didn't know, they just kept on repeating the phrase SSD Flash drive. I eventually declined to take the process any further, can someone here tell me for certain which drive will be used blade NVMe or SATA.?

In previous gen iMacs, SSD only models were blade/NVMe. From what I have read, the same is still true on shipping iMacs.
